Report a Vehicle / Parking Concern

towed vehicle

Report a vehicle concern using the San José 311 mobile app (for Apple or Android) or website, or dial 3-1-1 to speak with our customer service center by phone.

A photograph and license plate number can help our officers address your concern, but they are no longer required.

Please note that we are not able to act on all complaints, but we track them all and use the data to better understand what services to prioritize with future resources.

We are not able to tow lived-in vehicles, but City staff or nonprofit partners will attempt to reach out to the occupants to offer resources.

Examples of Vehicle Concerns Include:

  • Lived-in vehicles
  • Trash/sewage around a vehicle (not inside the vehicle or on the truck bed)
  • Vehicles in a park, creek or trail
  • Vehicles on private property
  • Poor condition of a vehicle parked on a city street
  • Issue with how, where or how long a vehicle is parked on a city street
  • Suspected vehicle-related criminal activity (drugs or prostitution)
  • Other vehicle concerns
