Deputy Chief Gina Tibaldi was born and raised in the City of San Jose.  She attended the University of Southern California, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Chemical Engineering.  She then received a Master of Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver.  She has worked for the San Jose Police Department for over 22 years. 

Her experience as an officer and sergeant includes Patrol, Violent Crimes Enforcement Team, Chief’s Adjutant, and Internal Affairs.  As a lieutenant, she worked Patrol, Family Violence Unit, and Research & Development.  As a Captain, she was assigned to the Bureau of Field Operations (Southern & Central Divisions), the Bureau of Administration, and the Bureau of Investigations II.   

The Office of the Chief Executive Officer oversees the Division of Cannabis Regulation, The City Attorney Investigators, the Police Department Budget Office, Fiscal and Personnel Units, the Permits Unit, Research & Development, and the Secondary Employment Unit.
