Our Division encompasses approximately 123 square miles and is the largest of the four patrol divisions.  We extend from Hamilton Av / Curtner Av / Capitol Ex in the north to Morgan Hill in the south and from the towns of Los Gatos and Campbell in the west to the east foothills. 

The Southern Division is host to a number of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, fishing, recreation, and picnic areas at Almaden Lake Regional Park, Almaden Quicksilver County Park, Hellyer County Park, Santa Teresa County Park, Martial Cottle Park State Recreation Area, and numerous City of San Jose Parks.  The Highway 87 Bikeway, Coyote Creek Trail, and Los Alamitos Creek Trail provide additional opportunities for recreation, fitness, and commuting.

The Southern Division is home to the only vineyard winery in San Jose, Alamitos Vineyards, and five exceptional golf courses with Almaden Country Club, Boulder Ridge, Cinnabar Hills, Coyote Creek, and Santa Teresa.  If you feel like shopping, visit Westfield Oakridge Mall or the only Bass Pro Shops in the Bay Area.  For entertainment, you can catch a movie at Cinemark Century Oakridge 20 or the only drive-in in San Jose, West Wind Capitol Drive-In.

About Our Team

Our Southern Division team is composed of:

• 1 Senior Community Service Officer
• 14 Community Service Officers
• 2 Crime Prevention Specialists

Southern Division personnel have experience in the Detective Bureaus, (e.g., Robbery, Homicide, and Assaults), Special Operations (e.g., SWAT, Air Support, and Street Crimes), Crime Scene Investigations, and Administration.  We have military veterans, those who hold master’s degrees, and competitive athletes.  Most importantly, we have moms, dads, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. 

Together, our team provides you public safety services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  We work diligently to prevent, suppress, and investigate crimes, build strong community partnerships, and solve a wide range of neighborhood issues.  If there is ever anything you need from us, please do not hesitate to reach out.
