On January 15, 2024, at approximately 1:54 AM, patrol Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Monterey Road and Skyway Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2005 silver GMC SUV, occupied by an adult female driver, was travelling southbound on Monterey Road when it struck an adult female pedestrian who was walking across Monterey Road in the area of a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This is the 1st fatal collision of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
