On April 4, 2023 at approximately 6:49 PM, patrol Officers responded to a local hospital to investigate the death of a two-month old infant. In accordance with Santa Clara County protocols, Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. Both parents of the infant were interviewed and evidence was collected.
On December 8, 2023, the Santa Clara County Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office provided Detectives with final medical reports and autopsy results for the victim, citing the manner of death as homicide.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
This was the City's 34th homicide of 2023.
