On March 9, 2023, San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives investigated an attempted bank robbery at the 5600 block of Silver Creek Valley Road. The suspect handed the bank teller a note stating he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect left the bank before any money was given. After a thorough investigation, David Razzaqui was identified as the primary suspect. Detectives were also able to determine that he was responsible for a bank robbery that occurred in February 2023 in the city of Saratoga.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and on May 2, 2023, he was arrested in the city of San José while in possession of a stolen vehicle. Suspect Razzaqui was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery and attempted robbery.
