On March 27, 2023 Detectives identified Silvia Solorio as the driver responsible for the collision. Detectives had previously located her abandoned vehicle outside San José city limits.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident at her residence in Santa Clara, and booked at Santa Clara County Main Jail where she faces charges of felony vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.

On March 26, 2023, at approximately 6:50 PM, patrol Officers responded to the area of Blossom Hill Road and Leigh Avenue to investigate a hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle, two pedestrians and a dog. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2000 green or blue Honda four door sedan possibly driven by an adult female was traveling westbound on Blossom Hill Road when it struck an adult female pedestrian, her juvenile daughter, and their dog who were walking southbound across Blossom Hill Road in a marked crosswalk. The vehicle fled the scene in a westbound direction.
The adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The juvenile female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The dog was also killed as a result of the collision.
This is the 5th fatal collision, and the 6th traffic death of 2023. This is also the 4th pedestrian death of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
