Alert: Missing Person - On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at approximately 12:30 PM, San Jose Police Officers responded to a call of a welfare check in the 800 block of Kingfisher Drive. The reporting party called the police concerned that they had not seen their elderly neighbors since Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Upon arrival, officers located an elderly male in need of medical attention. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The elderly male's wife has not been located.

Reward: Homicide - On Jan. 23rd at about 10:57pm, San Jose Police officers responded to the 2700 block of Chopin Ave at Puccini Ave in response to a call of shots fired.   Upon arrival they found Albert Cobarribias with a gun shot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. This marks San Jose's first homicide of the year. Fatal Hit & Run (ReVisited)- We Still Need Your Help - On March. 2nd 2009 at about 6:00am, a 77 year old woman was hit by a vehicle along McKee Ave. near Capitol Ave. She later died from her injuries. The suspect vehicle is a black, late 90s, Toyoto Avalon 4 door sedan or similar vehicle, which may have been repaired by now. Robbery - A violent robbery occurred at Valley Christian High School on Nov. 17, 2009 at approx. 9 PM. After leaving a school dance, the 17 year old victim was surrounded by 3 males who demanded money. The victim was violently assaulted and robbed. The suspects are described as hispanic males, all about 18 years old. Reward: Homicide Update - We need your help in locating a homicide suspect, Hector Flores Arias: Wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on May. 7th at about 3:45pm, in the 3300-block of Rocky Mountain Drive, in San Jose. When officers arrived they found a 22 year old male who had been shot and later died. The suspect in this shooting was recently identified as 20 year old Hector Flores Arias. He is not in custody and should be considered armed and dangerous. Advisory - Between July 2008 and July 2009, more than 6,500 vehicles were stolen in San Jose, and each year, along with the arrival of the cold winter weather comes a marked increase in “warm up” vehicle thefts.

Reward: Homicide - On Sept. 26th at about 9:00pm, San Jose Police officers responded to the 100 block of South King Rd in response to a reported stabbing incident.   Upon arrival they located 4 victims with stab wounds. One of the victims, a 35 year old San Jose man, died the following day at a local hospital. This incident appears to be gang related. Robbery - The San Jose Police Department's Robbery Unit is asking for the public's assistance in locating two robbery suspects. August 2009, the suspects would make contact with the victim's using internet services to identify Asian female escorts. Once the suspects would meet up with the victim's, they would commit robbery and other crimes.

Reward: Robbery - We need your help in identifying the suspect in a violent purse snatch robbery at the Safeway Store on San Carlos St. near Meridian. On August 2nd, 2009 at about 10:00PM a woman was assaulted and struck twice in the face as she prepared to load her groceries into her car. Her purse was taken and the suspect fled the scene in a small white or silver SUV type vehicle. The suspect is described as a black male adult about 35 years old, 5'9" tall, 170lbs with deep set eyes. Click the links below for more information.

Robbery - "Muumuu Bandit" We need your help in identifying a man who has robbed at least two businesses in San Jose. The first robbery occurred on July 11th, 2009 at around 12:40pm at a Payday Loan store located in the 700 block of Story Road. One week later, on July 18th at 10:36am, the same man robbed a liquor store in the 3900 block of Snell Ave. He’s described as an unknown race male, 5’6” to 5’8” tall and weighing about 170 pounds. It’s not unusual for suspects to wear disguises when committing robberies, but this suspect’s choice of disguises is noteworthy. During both robberies, he wore a pink long sleeved gown or “muumuu” with a white and purple floral pattern on it, along with a tan-colored straw garden hat, white gloves and tan shoes.

Alert: Homicide - We need your help in solving a homicide that occurred last summer.  At around 1:45am on Friday, August 15th, 2008, witnesses reported hearing shots fired near a convenience store at King Road and Flanagan Drive in San Jose. Brandishing - We need your help in identifying a suspect who brandished a gun at a police officer. Around midnight on January 19th, a San Jose Police Officer stopped a pedestrian at Capitol Expressway and Seven Trees Blvd. The three occupants of the vehicle are described as Hispanic male adults 20-25 years old. The suspect vehicle is described as a gold mid 90’s to 2000 four door, possibly a Nissan Maxima or similar... Call (408) 277-8900 if you have any information in this case. Reward: Homicide - The San Jose Police Department needs your help in solving a homicide that occurred on March 28th at around 10:00pm.  18 year old Raul Islas Lopez was a passenger in silver 1995 Acura Integra and at the intersection of Summer St. and Dobern Ave., someone fired a handgun at the vehicle...A reward is offered in this case.

Reward: Sexual Assault - Attempted homicide - On January 6th, 2008 around 1:50am, the suspect climbed through an open window of an occupied apartment on St. Elizabeth Drive in San José in the area of Meridian and Fruitdale Avenues. If you have information about this case, please contact detective John Moutzouridis at the San José Police Department at 277-4290. A $1750.00 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Register for AlertSCC to receive important emergency information.

The City of San Jose is participating in a new Countywide Emergency Notification System that will provide timely and lifesaving information to registered residents, no matter their location.

The AlertSCC system can send thousands of text and voice messages within minutes to home and business land line phones using existing 411 and 911 databases. The system cannot reach cell phones, PDA’s, computers, and devices for the hearing impaired, unless those cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses are registered with the system.

Registering takes only a few minutes through a simple online process. Anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County is encouraged to register their cell phone number and e-mail address by going to www.AlertSCC.com. Click on “Participating Cities” to register.

The County of Santa Clara purchased the system and is rolling it out to San Jose, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Gilroy, Campbell, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Los Altos Hills.
